About Us
Coral Ridge Development is a Sanibel-based general contractor specializing in condo renovations and white-box finishing. We serve Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and all of Southwest Florida, delivering high-quality craftsmanship and seamless project management.​
Our Story
Founded by brothers Steve and Ben Ackley, It’s been over 40 years since we built our first house in Delaware County, Ohio, earning college tuition to attend Denison University in Granville. Since that time, we graduated and eventually spent the next 20 years building single family houses, in Ohio, over 700 of them. In the early 2000’s we transitioned over to developing ‘Empty Nester’ condominium communities and investing in income producing real estate. With this experience in single-family production housing and understanding P&L responsibilities, multi-family housing, land acquisition, site selection, and land development we attained a broad range of knowledge about how to solve problems and get things done. We believe in learning on the job and we both, in the early days, performed all of the skilled work, planning, managing, selling, and servicing everything necessary to complete our construction projects. As our business grew, we grew into it and learned how to build a company. To build a company, you have to know how to find, get along with and develop people.
